Bad eating habit is one of main causes of diabetes. Fortunately, this disease is not a serious disease like heart attack or cancer; with special diet, medication and exercise are able to make diabetes sufferers closer to normal condition. This time I will discuss on diabetes diet especially on foods that are recommended to be consumed for diabetes sufferers. Diabetes sufferers must keep their sugar level in normal condition therefore reducing consumption of carbohydrate, fat and protein is the first things that they have to do.
If we eat 3 times a day in normal eating plans, it is suggested that diabetes sufferers eat more often but with less portion. This is to reduce hungry feeling because people tend to eat a lot if they have hungry feeling. Skim milk, soy milk and yogurt are three types of milk that are allowed in diabetes diet. Cheese is allowed to be consumed but at low portion. Consuming butter is not recommended and as replacement, sufferers can use canola and olive oil.
Vegetables, brown rice and oat are recommended to be consumed, the more consuming those three foods the better. Fish is still allowed to be consumed but not more than twice a week at normal portion.
